Top Gun Premium Plaster

TOP GUN Premium Plaster is an ASTM rated basecoat for conventional stucco (two-coat / three-coat). TOP GUN Premium Plaster is designed to be a pump grade product that does not require additional additives - and develop higher 3, 7 and 28-day strengths than plastic cement.

Both concentrate and sanded TOP GUN may be supplied as a fibered basecoat. Fibers are Type E - chopped 1/2" meeting ASTM D578. Half-inch E fibers reduce early shrinkage cracks in cement plaster. The E fibers selected for TOP GUN provide uniform dispersion in the mix and superior strand integrity so maximum effectiveness of the fiber is not reduced by strand damage from mixing or application.

Mixing:
Plaster sand for TOP GUN Premium Plaster shall comply with ASTM C144 or C897. Cement to sand ratio shall not exceed UBC Table 25-F. For pumping, a 1-part cement to 3-parts sand ratio is recommended.

TOP GUN Premium Plaster shall be mixed in a mechanical type mixer. Add half the potable water and half the sand required for the batch. While sand and water are mixing, add all the bags of TOP GUN Premium Plaster required for the batch. Add the full amount of sand required and the minimum amount of water to bring the mix to the proper consistency. Too much water in the mix will increase shrinkage cracking. Allow batch to mix for 3 to 5 minutes after all materials are added.

Approximate water usage:
1 / 3 cement to sand - 2 ¾ to 3 ¼ gallons
1 / 4 cement to sand - 3 ¾ to 4 ¼ gallons

Application:
TOP GUN Premium Plaster may be applied by hand or machine. Application methods, acceptable substrates and total applied thickness shall meet the requirements set forth in ASTM C926. TOP GUN Premium Plaster may be used in a standard scratch and brown application; or by the Alternate Method of Application per UBC 2508.6. Alternate Method of Application provides a better bond between coats, less shrinkage, improves curing and speeds completion times. Alternate Method of Application is not suggested for open-frame construction. Always verify Alternative Method is approved by local authorities before proceeding with this method of application.

Curing:
The product requires a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours moist curing. Environmental conditions such as heat, wind and low humidity will require additional curing.
